Our Preschool & Early Elementary classes are perfect for children from preschool through second grade. If you have a fairly independent 3 year old who loves to participate and would respond to a teacher giving prompts in the video, this would also be an appropriate program for them.

If you are a homeschooling parent and are looking for an option for music classes that will meet your needs, the curriculum for these classes is the same I would use if I were an elementary music teacher in a school setting. In fact, I used it when I taught second grade in my first public school position.
The curriculum for Preschool & Early Elementary classes is based on Dr. John Feierabend’s “First Steps in Music for Preschool & Beyond” curriculum. The focus is on helping children learn to become tuneful, beatful, and artful through using folk songs, rhymes, and movement activities.
While parent participation is always encouraged, this class is a bit different than the Mommy & Me style used in the Infant/Toddler age group. For these classes, children can participate independently, as long as they can follow along with me in the video and respond using their speaking and singing voice.
As a quick note, it may take a few weeks before you notice your child really participating. This is totally normal! Children often take several sessions to get used to a new concept, and even though it may not be apparent at first, they are observing and learning as they watch the sessions, even if you may not hear them respond right away. If you can find a few moments to start singing one of our songs yourself, or speaking a rhyme, you will likely find that they recognize it and will jump in with you.
